I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
